Ultra Adventures Inc.

Whether you are a seasoned runner, or looking to join your first long distance run, you have come to the right place. Ultra Adventures, Inc. provides an engaging and fun event, geared towards people of all ages and skill levels. We believe that stepping outside of your comfort zone equals happiness, and encourage participants to challenge their bodies while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Join us for the annual Lake Norman State Park Trail Race! This race offers two options, a 30K and 50K length event. Both events will offer a 9 hour cut off time with two aid stations for the 30K and four aid stations for the 50K. This race consists of smooth rolling single track trails with no repeat loops! Whether this is your first trail race, or your looking to set a PR, you will love this course!

All participants who complete the entire duration of their selected event will receive a special finishers metal when they cross the finish line. There will be handmade awards for 1st place overall male and female for both events as well as Masters awards.

The Black Mountain Ultra Traverse is as tough as it gets. This will be one of the toughest yet most gratifying races you have ever completed. From the time you start, you will be immediately challenged with a long, grueling climb to the summit of Mt. Mitchell, the tallest peak East of the Mississippi. From there, you will continue to climb multiple 6,000′ mountains in some of the toughest terrain the Beast Coast has to offer, all this with no aid or support for the entire event. To register for the 48 Mile, runners must have completed a trail race of at least 50K in distance within the last three years. Please note that this race was inspired by the mentality of winter ultra-races, a low-key, no-frills race that requires you to be 100% comfortable being alone and self-sufficient. You are required to filter your water from only a few reliable streams along the course. You will have a total of 19 hours to complete this race. This event has both a 48-mile event and a 24-mile event.

Chris and I love spending time outdoors whether we are running, mountain biking or hiking and exploring new trails with our two children, James and Emma. We all enjoy participating in local running events and meeting great friends in the process has been such a bonus. The running community provides such a wonderful outlet and I like being able to give back by directing a run at the State Park that everyone can enjoy.
